Natures Palette
TWO SOLD, THREE REMAINING. A photograph of a lemon-scented gum, Corymbia citriodora, taken on the Waite Campus of The University of Adelaide. This estate, bequeathed to the University by early pastoralist Peter Waite, houses some beautiful historic trees in it’s arboretum. Lemon-scented gums shed their bark each summer. Little blisters appear, then burst and peel up, revealing shades of beetroot, caramel, asparagus and lime. In the end it all drops off to reveal it’s characteristic smoothe creamy coat.
