We managed to get away from contemporary life for a few weeks to where self reliance and weather became the main focus. Traveling on the Oodnadatta Track, an unsealed road linking Maree and Oodnadatta and running just west of the vast Lake Eyre in South Australia, our plans were pushed about, not by COVID19 but by changing weather and road conditions. We had a fabulous if unpredictable adventure and enjoyed some extraordinary scenery and wonderful Australian wildlife, and a great deal of peace and solitude. If you've not visited the "outback" before then you might not fully comprehend what it has to offer the soul.

The outback seems to provide an opportunity for people to express their inner self

I managed to go three weeks without needing to charge my phone or even need my phone for that matter

We had a real blast and even though the jukebox wasn't working, we danced anyway!
